Scarless Tummy Tuck Techniques

While a truly scarless tummy tuck is a myth in current times, there are certain techniques in use by plastic/cosmetic surgeons that leave a minimal scar with the tummy tuck. On the other hand, the scarless tummy tuck can begin and end in under two short hours. Reduced time under anesthesia equals a reduced risk to the patient. The scarless tummy tuck also does not require a long extended hospital stay for recovery. Patients are usually released the same day of surgery to recover in the comfort of their own home.

Potential patients should be aware however, that during the first four to six weeks after the mini-tummy tuck, they may still have a bit of pain, swelling, bruising, and tenderness in the surgical location. There are more rare and serious complications that are possible, such as infection, slowed healing, bleeding, or even skin necrosis. The key to a healthy recovery is the strict compliance with the surgeon’s post surgical care instructions.
